Types of tournaments in pétanque:

- Tête à Tête : Team of 1 player playing with 3 boules

- Select Doublette : Team of 2 players playing with 3 boules each already constituted 

- Select Triplette : Team of 3 players playing with 2 boules each already constituted

- Vauclusienne : Team of 1,2 or 3 players playing 6 boules per Team already constituted

- Panache : Team of 2 or 3 players determine randomly, Teams are changing each game

- Mélé : Team of 2 or 3 players determine randomly, Teams stay the same for the entire tournament
